WESTPAC RESCUE HELICOPTERS

Hello and welcome back... With summer just around the corner, i thought i would focus on one of the best Rescue organizations that keeps our coastline safe... Westpac Rescue Helicopters

SYDNEY AND SOUTH
Sydney base at La Perouse (northern headland Botany Bay - Cape Banks) is home to 'Lifesaver 21' (VH-SLU), a Kawasaki BK117 Helicopter
The Sydney base is also a major radio hub with comms for Surf Lifesaving (SLSA), Council Lifeguards, NSW Police, Marine Radio, GRN (Government Radio Network), Ambulance NSW & Sydney Radar (air traffic).

Southern helicopter base is situated at Moruya (NSW South Coast) and is home to 'Lifesaver 23' a Kawasaki BK117 B2 Helicopter (VH-SLA)


NORTHERN DISTRICTS


The northern districts have 4 Augusta Westland AW139 Helicopters and bases include Newcastle (Belmont Airport), Lismore (airport) and Tamworth (airport).

A maintenance facility is situated Newcastle (Broadmedow) and is where the 4th spare helicopter is housed.
