RAAF HORNETS CONDUCTING NIGHT TRAINING - RICHMOND RAAF

Hello and welcome back.... From RAAF facebook post =

Six Hornet F/A 18A/B jet aircraft will conduct diversion training at RAAF Base Richmond from ht, Monday February 10, through to Friday February 14, from 8pm to 10.30pm.

*** UPDATE**
Two F/A-18A/B Hornets will again be doing training at Richmond on April 7,8 and 9 from 7.30pm to 10pm
The Hornets from RAAF Base Williamtown, near Newcastle, will conduct circuit training including ‘touch-and-go’ landings.

Aircraft will conduct their diversion training in three waves of two aircraft from approximately 8.15pm to 10.30pm.

The ability to land at alternate airfields is an essential part of pilot training on the Hornet aircraft. Richmond is the primary diversion airfield for RAAF Base Williamtown.

This training will also include an Instrument Landing System (ILS) approach, which assists pilots to land at night or in poor weather conditions.

Residents should note that these dates and times are subject to change.

Noise reduction and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of military activity, and Air Force appreciates the ongoing support of the Hawkesbury community during these training activities.
