YAESU VX-6 REVIEW

This Wicked little radio can access Amateur Radio, AM / FM, Airband, Shortwave, Marine, UHF Military & UHF CB...

The first thing you notice about this small but mighty radio is that its made of Metal... Yes, its made in Japan and its Metal, Not Plastic...

 

 

Its Also Waterproof and Amazingly Affordable... You can Receive from 504kHz to 998.99Mhz with a Transmit range of 144 / 222/ 430 mhz

I highly recommend this radio, mostly for Airband... Its excellent 

 

(Did someone say Modification?)

There is a Modification that is easy to do and when finished will allow to Transmit on Marine Band, Air Band, UHF CB, Shortwave???... I haven't done it on mine.. but apart from blowing your warranty, its also illegal to transmit on Airband without a license... To modify your radio, its basically taking the battery off and removing a small plastic panel, then unsolder a small pin (No 4 Pin) and that's it... Reset the radio when finished and the transmit works...

 

PROGRAMMING

The service i offer for this Radio (VX-6 Only) is a full radio program including UHF CB (with input / output), Marine Radio (input / output), Rural fire (Aircraft / Fireground), Sydney Airport, Local Airports (Camden / Bankstown) UHF Military (Satellites) and Richmond RAAF

I will Need to Meet You as the Software i use to Program cost me $150 (came with programming cable) and will take about 10mins to do (No, I wont Modify, Just Program)
