UNUSUAL ANTENNA

Hello and welcome back... A reader sent this in of a unusual antenna in the lower mountains...

To me it looks like an upside down hills hoist clothes line, maybe a homemade antenna. Wonder how well it picks up?

What do you think?

  1. I would say its the home of a Hammy! This is a Hexbeam antenna for Amateur Radio use. It covers 5 HF bands and one VHF band, namely the 20m, 17m, 15m, 12m, 10m and 6m bands. Each band uses one assembled wire that wraps around to make one dipole radiator for each band, but with a separate wire reflector behind it.

  2. I have seen one before, used as a WEFAX antenna setup for ham use.
